The Canadian Lottario Lottery has been operated by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) since the organization was created in April of 2000. Lottario offers players attractive winning odds starting at 1:21.
The Lottario lottery’s first draw occurred on November 18th, 1978 and since then has been making its players millions richer! The lottery’s largest jackpot was $3.6 million, won by a single winning ticket, on December 5th, 1992.
OLG is a provincial agency in Ontario responsible for the province’s lottery games and gaming facilities, previously known as the Ontario Lottery Corporation (OLC), which was created in 1975 and later merged with the Ontario Casino Corporation (OCC). Since 1975, OLG has generated over $28 billion for the benefit of Ontario.
Additional Canadian lotteries offered at theLotter include the Canada Lotto 6/49 and Ontario 49 in addition to lottery information and results for BC 49, Lotto Max, Quebec 49 and Western 6/49.
Lottario draws take place on Saturdays at 9 pm eastern time (GMT-5:00), and the lottery guarantees a minimum $250,000 jackpot. To enter, players choose six numbers from a 1-45 number range. Lottario offers players a bonus number which is drawn from the same drum as the regular number selection and is counted towards the second place prize only. When choosing to play the Lottario on theLotter, players select either 6-block forms or 10-block forms.
Lottario offers a systematic form of 7, 8 or 9 numbers which produces all possible combinations of the selected numbers and increases the chances of winning a prize. In addition, players can choose to play with Multi-Draws and/or Subscriptions exclusively at theLotter for exceptional savings on their favourite lotteries.
Players can choose one of three ways to select numbers: Natural Selection, in which the six numbers are selected by the player; Quick Pick, in which an automated system randomly selects the player’s numbers; or through My Lucky Numbers, theLotter player’s preselected numbers saved on the site.
Winning the Lottario
The Lottario’s winning odds begin at 1:21, and prizes are tax-free. During the draw, six numbers and an additional bonus number are drawn from the same drum. In order to win the jackpot prize, players are required to match all six mandatory numbers, regardless of the bonus ball. The starting point for the jackpot is always a minimum $250,000; however, if the jackpot rolls over, the prize pool has no limit! Click here for the world's biggest lottery draws!
This Canadian lottery’s prize pool is based on a pari-mutual share which is calculated by the total winners in a prize category. If there is more than one winner in one of the lottery’s five prize categories, the sum will be divided among the total number of winners in that category. Any amount not won in the first four prize categories is added to the jackpot prize for the next lottery draw.
Players can check lottery results online and must claim prizes within 12 months of the draw date.
