Indiana - Hoosier Lotto Information

Indiana’s premier lottery is the Hoosier Lotto, which offers some of the best winning odds in the US with 1 out of 6 odds of taking home a prize.

Hoosier Lotto History

The Hoosier Lotto was previously known as the Lotto Cash, one of the first lotteries created in the state of Indiana. Lotto Cash was the first lottery in the state to be played by guessing a set amount of numbers from a guess range as opposed to scratch-offs and raffles. In 1994, the name was changed to the Hoosier Lotto, the guess range was expanded, and a fifth prize category added.

The state of Indiana uses parts of the lottery’s proceeds to fund charitable, communal, and government organizations such as the Build Indiana Fund, the Teachers Retirement Fund and the Police Officers’ and Firefighters Pension and Disability fund.

The largest jackpot in Hoosier Lotto’s history was a prize of $54 million won in 2007. Check out the world's largest lottery jackpots here!
