EuroMillions UK Millionaire Results to Reveal 100 Raffle Winners – July 17th, 2012
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games is just ten days away and the lottery world is abuzz with the news of the UK EuroMillions’ promotional EuroMillions UK Millionaire Raffle being held to mark the event.
This historic draw on the evening of the opening ceremony (July 27th) will give 100 lottery fans the chance to become overnight millionaires, as the UK EuroMillions will be selecting 100 winners when its EuroMillions UK Millionaire Results are announced.
Much funding for the international sporting event has come from EuroMillions and UK National Lottery lotto ticket sales and so the lottery organisation is holding this historic raffle as a thank you to fans who have contributed to the organisation and building of the London 2012 Games.
Becoming a millionaire overnight is a big deal and so the lottery has recruited the best people to help advise winners of the EuroMillions Raffle after the drawing next Friday – former lotto winners.
David and Margaret Storey of Shipley won £1.4 million playing the UK National Lottery 15 years ago and the Telegraph and Argus reports the couple are happy to help those who strike lucky, just like they did.
Mrs Storey recommends those who take home a cool million after the EuroMillions UK Millionaire results wait before how they spend or invest their cash by taking a holiday to decompress and recover from the shock.
“I would leave it about 12 months before you do anything … you need time to come to terms with it and you learn who your real friends are,” she suggested.
Another couple on the winners’ advisory board are Bryan and Julie Birkett, who scooped more than £1 million in 2004.
The Scunthorpe Telegraph has revealed the pair will be on-hand to share their experiences and offer counsel to raffle winners, as the Birketts have experienced the quintessential lotto millionaire lifestyle, living a life of leisure and taking exotic holidays thanks to their windfall.
Finally, Colin and Maureen Darwood of Grimsbywill be passing on their wisdom to EuroMillions millionaires.
The couple won £1.6 million in 2007 with their UK National Lottery ticket and admit it was “stressful” when they first banked their fortune but they soon got their priorities right.
“We made sure our four children were mortgage-free, gave some to the grandchildren and other family and took the whole family – all 26 of us – on holiday toAmerica. It’s a fantastic feeling,” Mr Darwood told the Grimsby Telegraph.
