Ontario 49 Rules

Players entering the Ontario 49 lottery can look forward to biweekly CAD2 million jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:00 pm eastern time (GMT-5:00).

The Ontario 49 offers players a bonus number which is drawn from the same drum as the regular number selection and is counted towards the second and seventh place prizes only.

To play the Ontario 49 online with theLotter, players select six numbers from a guess range of 1-49 in either 5-block or 10-block forms. In addition, players can choose to fill out 7, 8 or 9 number systematic forms, which create all possible line combinations that can be generated from the selected numbers and increase players’ odds of winning a prize.

There are three options for players to select their numbers: choose six lucky numbers on their own (Natural Selection), have the numbers chosen for them automatically and randomly (Quick Pick) or use preselected numbers saved on theLotter (My Lucky Numbers).

Players at theLotter enjoy incredible discounts when purchasing tickets with subscriptions or multi-draws.

Winning the Ontario 49

At the time of the draw, six regular numbers and one bonus number are drawn from the same lottery drum. A jackpot winner is called when a ticket successfully matches all six guess numbers, regardless of the bonus number which is relevant only for the 2nd and 7th prizes. The Ontario 49’s jackpot is fixed at CAD2 million per draw and is tax-free. Winning odds start at 1:6.6 for any prize and rise to almost 1:14 million for jackpot prizes.

In the event that there is more than one winning ticket, in any category, the prize for that category will be shared between the winners. Ontario 49 prizes must be claimed within 12 months from the draw date.
