Latest Mega Millions Results Lead to Another Rollover!

1 Oct 2013

Following 18 rollovers without a single jackpot winner for more than two months, the Mega Millions once again makes headlines and is now the biggest lottery jackpot in the world! Tonight’s draw is only hours away offering a $189 million top prize for players who correctly match the required five numbers + Mega Ball! Continue reading about the upcoming draw and the nearing changes to this American lottery which are scheduled to take place this month.

Mega Millions on a Rollover Frenzy

Still topping theLotter’s theBig list, which presents the lotteries with the highest jackpot at the moment, the US Mega Millions has proudly been taking the #1 spot for two weeks since the last big Powerball jackpot was won and before so the #2 spot for nearly two months! Mega Millions is on a rollover roll after reaching 18 rollovers without a jackpot winner in sight. If tonight’s draw does not find a first prize category winner(s), this will result in a record breaking never-before-seen 19 rollovers for this American lottery.

Now and Then: Comparison between Current Mega Millions Jackpot vs. the Lottery’s Record-Breaking $656 Million in 2012

It seems lately that even though the lottery has been constantly rolling over, the jackpot has not yet reached the same heights it did between jumps as in the past with the $656 million jackpot in March of 2012 – breaking not only the lottery’s record but also creating a new record in the lottery world! Taking an accurate look at the comparison between the lottery jackpot leaps, it is apparent that the big break in the record-breaking jackpot arrived on the lottery’s 18th rollover when the first prize nearly doubled its sum!

Even though history has not yet repeated itself and the American lottery still has a long way to go until it succeeds in breaking yet another record, it remains a favourite among lottery fans!

Future changes to come to the Mega Millions lottery will most definitely promise bigger jumps between draws, bringing the lottery back to its good ole days!

Coming Soon! Mega Millions Lottery Changes

Three weeks from today, Mega Millions will be undergoing some lottery-life-changing updates and lottery fans are in for a treat!

  • As opposed to choosing the five regular numbers from a 1-56 number range, starting this October 22nd players will choose their numbers from a larger 1-75 number guess range
  • The additional number, the Mega Ball, will be selected from a separate number matrix with a shrinking guess range from 46 to 15
  • The lottery will increase its current $12 million starting point to $15 million
  • Jackpots will grow by at least $5,000,000 with every rollover
  • Players choosing the Megaplier game option will be able to multiply their wins by 2-5 times as opposed to the current 2-4 multiplier feature

These changes will improve the overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize, making an estimated three times as many winners! Although it may be more difficult to win the jackpot prize, this will lead to larger jackpot growth!

The Mega Millions draws occur biweekly every Tuesday and Friday and have no cap limit from their $12 million jackpot starting point. The latest Mega Millions results are updated on theLotter shortly after the draw occurs.  Players interested in bringing home one of the exciting nine prize categories choose five numbers from a 1-56 guess range and an additional Mega Ball. Good luck to all!
