$2 million won in US Powerball by syndicate group!

A check in the amount of $2 million was presented to a Pennsylvania syndicate last week, after the group of 10 women won the second division prize in the October 22nd Powerball drawing. The women are all employed at a distribution company in York, and have been playing the lottery together for ten years, now. They each contribute $2 per week, and take turns purchasing the tickets.

While one of the women was checking the seven tickets they bought the next morning, she came across a win and thought it had said the amount was $2,000. After going to get the ticket officially scanned at the market from which she had purchased the tickets, she was shocked to discover that the amount won was actually $2 million! Luckily, the syndicate opted for the Power Play addition, which boosted their win from $1 million to double that! The odds of their win was one in five million!

The ticket was a Quick Pick purchase and matched all five numbers – 29, 30, 40, 42 and 50, only missing the Powerball number of 16. Each member will receive $150,000 as her share of the prize, and all plan on paying off loans and saving for their retirement, with the winnings. The biggest stateside lottery is the US Mega Millions, where the jackpot is at an enormous $321 million! And don’t forget to multiply your winnings with the Megaplier option, and come out on top just like the York syndicate did!
