Despite those costs, Rust is designed for native software where performance and reliability matter. Its compiler checks for memory errors and data races at compile time, without relying on a garbage collector. Developers can use it for command-line tools, web services, embedded code, systems software and WebAssembly projects. The Rust<\/a> installation includes a compiler and an integrated workflow for building and managing projects.<\/p>\n

How Rust helps prevent memory errors<\/h2>\n

Rust\u2019s ownership and borrowing rules define how data can be accessed and when it can be released. The borrow checker enforces those rules during compilation, helping prevent issues such as use-after-free and data races before a program runs.
