With no winner this past Tuesday, the Mega Millions has just seen its 10th rollover in a row. The current jackpot has increased to a staggering $115,000,000, making it the biggest lottery on the globe at the moment.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions Results
The Mega Millions winning numbers were 2, 11, 42, 64, 74 and 2, with a Megaplier of x5.
This is the third time this year that the Mega Millions’ jackpot breaks the $100,000,000 barrier, making it a good year for Mega Millions so far. This American lottery is the current record holder for the world’s biggest jackpot, after hosting a $656 million jackpot just last year (March 2012).
While Tuesday’s draw did not yield a jackpot winner, it was not without its millionaire. A lucky participant was able to match all five numbers, earning the lucky ticket holder a $1,000,000 prize. Unfortunately the player did not opt for the Megaplier option (multiplying all non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5) and so would have to settle for one million rather than enjoying Tuesday’s x5 Megaplier and going home with five millions.
Winners Winners Winners
Secondary prizes were as abundant as always, with 35 people matching four numbers and the additional one, earning them $5,000 each. Of those 35, three were Megaplier winners, making their prize $25,000 per person. 327 matched four numbers and won $500, among them were 28 people who have also chosen the Megaplier, multiplying their wins by 5 and winning $2,500 each. An additional 1,347,082 people qualified for the lesser categories and won secondary prizes.
You can find a full breakdown of the different prize categories on the Mega Millions results page.
Now that the Mega Millions has crossed the $100,000,000 mark, expect to see an increased interest in this Friday’ s draw, as people from all over the world will try their hand at winning and making themselves and their families wealthy for generations to come.
