Since its first ever draw on March 23rd, lottery fans may have been transfixed by the new EuroJackpot lotto.
However, in the four draws that have taken place since the game was launched, nobody has been lucky enough yet to claim the seemingly illusive top prize.
Every week this mammoth sum has rolled over, it has been inflated by a cool €1 million, so now the jackpot stands at €15 million – a life-changing windfall for any lottery fanatic.
There is still plenty of time to get involved in the next EuroJackpot draw and fans can play the lottery online on theLotter to be in with a chance to taking home the coveted top prize.
If they are lucky enough to get all their numbers right, they will become the first ever top-tier payout winners of the game in its history.
But fans will not find out until the lottery results are called at the draw, which takes place every Friday evening from the EuroJackpot‘s official television headquarters in the Finnish capital of Helsinki.
In addition to Finland, the EuroJackpot‘s other official participating countries include Estonia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and the Netherlands, while Sweden and Norway are expected to join this bloc in the coming year.
Fans from all over the world, however, are playing this fledgling European lottery online.
The EuroJackpot guarantees great prizes, with the minimum top payout somebody with all the right numbers can win being €10 million, however there are 11 other prize categories, with the smallest of these requiring just two main numbers and one extra number matching.
Playing is easy, as lottery fans only need to choose five main numbers from a matrix of 1-50 and two extra numbers from a much smaller 1-8 range.
Like other lotteries, entrants can select their lotto numbers either using a Quick Pick random number selector or go the traditional route of choosing them themselves.
So, with €15 million for the taking, in addition to a mention in the lottery history books, fans have everything to gain by playing the EuroJackpot lotto online on theLotter, where they can also check results and learn more.

The hunt is on for a lottery player who has won €1.2 million playing the EuroMillions.
According to reports, the lotto ticket that holds the key to somebody’s life-changing fortune was purchased in the South Yorkshire area of the UK for the March 27th draw, but so far, nobody has come forward to claim their windfall.
A spokesman for the National Lottery – which co-ordinates EuroMillions wins in Britain – stated that the winner needs to make him or herself known before the deadline for collecting the prize money, which is 180 days after the draw has taken place.
Therefore, the lucky lottery player has until 15:00 BST on September 23rd this year to claim their €1.2 million in cash, but if they fail to do so the payout will go towards the National Lottery‘s Good Causes initiative.
A spokesman for the organisation said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings.”
He added that anybody in the South Yorkshire area who plays the EuroMillions should check their pockets, purses and bags for any neglected lottery tickets and they ought to check all of them to make sure they chance to become a millionaire does not pass them by.
It is cases such as this that prove the benefits of playing the lotto online on theLotter, as the site will let winners know by SMS and email if they have pocketed any money from their lottery entries.
This way, people find out immediately, which eliminates the issue of neglecting to check lottery tickets using a lottery results checker at a shop – or indeed forgetting about the slips altogether.
In 2005, a EuroMillions ticket worth €11.4 million was purchased in Doncaster, but its owner was never found, perhaps because they entered the lottery on a whim but it slipped their mind to check if their numbers were in fact winning ones.
The next EuroMillions draw will be on Friday (April 20th), with the jackpot climbing to €26 million after a rollover yesterday (April 17th).
Fans can play on theLotter to ensure they know straight away if they are due a cash payout.

After weeks of waiting in anticipation, the first Euro Jackpot is scheduled to happen in a matter of hours, making lottery history.
The debut drawing will take place at the lotto’s official television studios in the Finnish capital city of Helsinki, while results will also be revealed online.
So, the world’s first Euro Jackpot top prize winner could be made tonight, with the lucky man or woman taking home the guaranteed €10 million jackpot.
If the prize is scooped this evening, the winner may come from one of the Euro Jackpot‘s official participating countries Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Italy, but they could be a resident of any part of the world as the game is available internationally to lotto online players.
So how does it work?
For those who do not know, there is still plenty of time to get involved on theLotter and enter the Euro Jackpot digitally.
All players have to do is choose five numbers from a matrix of 1-50 using either their own selected digits or a Quick Pick random number selector.
Next, they have to choose two extra numbers from a range of 1-8 before submitting their entry and awaiting the results when they are announced for the very first time tonight.
What prizes are there?
There are 12 prize categories, with the jackpot starting at a guaranteed €10 million and rising to as much as €90 million in the event of multiple rollovers.
The smallest requirements to receive a payout are just two main numbers and one extra number, so it is more than likely the Euro Jackpot will lead to dozens of winners every week.
Making history
Organisers expect the Euro Jackpot to become one of the most popular lotteries in Europe and the hype will reach a climax tonight when the first ever results are revealed at its Helsinki television headquarters.
So, lottery fans are left wondering whether they will be the player to go down in history as the first Euro Jackpot winner if they scoop the coveted €10 million this evening – or will the excitement be dragged out if the top prize rolls over to next Friday (March 30th)?

The long wait is nearly over for lottery fans, as the newest international lotto is set to have its debut draw this week.
For those who do not know, the EuroJackpot is scheduled to reveal its first ever set of results on Friday (March 23rd) from its television headquarters inHelsinki, the capital ofFinland.
Players have two days to get their hands on lottery tickets for this historic event and can enter the lotto online on theLotter.
If they get all their numbers right, they could be the very first EuroJackpot fan in history to take home the top prize of €10 million.
This is the minimum jumbo payout the lottery will offer, while rollovers could see the jackpot hit the €90 million ceiling.
In addition, players could stand to win smaller denominations throughout 11 other prize categories, with the bottom tier requiring just two main numbers and one extra number for ticketholders to claim a payout.
The EuroJackpot itself is easy to play because it follows the same format as a number of other lottos.
Entrants need to – either using their own numbers or a Quick Pick random number selector – choose five main numbers form a matrix of 1-50 and then an additional two extra numbers from a range of 1-8.
Then, all players have to do is wait for the results, which will be revealed by the EuroJackpot every Friday evening from its official television studios inHelsinki.
The lotto is available to fans all over the world online and lottery enthusiasts can get involved right now on theLotter.
Its official participating countries includeDenmark,Estonia,Finland,Germany,Italy, theNetherlandsandSlovenia- while more nations could join this bloc in the coming months and years.
Indeed, it has been rumoured that Norwaywill be the next of the Nordic kingdoms to join the EuroJackpot, whileSweden andIceland are expected to add their names to the list early on in 2013.
So, with two days to go, there is no time like the present for lottery fans to put their lucky numbers to the test in the first ever EuroJackpot drawing.

Wednesday is a busy day for European lottery fans as many of the biggest continental games hold mid-week draws in addition to draws on Friday or Saturday.
One of the biggest Euro lotteries to be calling results tomorrow night (March 14th) is the Viking Lotto, which has been rolling over since February 29th, when one lucky player walked away with SEK 2 million in their back pocket.
Last week’s (March 7th) drawing resulted in nobody getting all their numbers right and so the excitement is mounting in anticipation for tomorrow night, as a fortunate lottery fan could win the SEK 12 million jackpot.
The Viking Lotto is played widely throughout the Nordic region of Europe, withSweden,Denmark,Estonia,Finland,Iceland andNorway all selling tickets locally, but the game is also enjoyed by international fans who play all over the world online.
Scandinavia is not the only part of Europe awaiting an upcoming draw, as France and Germanyare also eager to see what the outcome is when their national lottos announce their respective results tomorrow evening.
The France Loto has been rolling over since February 13th and thanks to 12 draws resulting in no first-tier winners, the jackpot for this game is now €14 million.
Neighbouring German Lotto fans have not been as unlucky, as the top prize has only gone unclaimed once since last week’s (March 7th) draw and tomorrow night a lucky lottery fan could find themselves €3 million richer if they get their numbers right.
Austria Lotto also announces results on Wednesdays and the lottery has seen three winners in a row walk away with the top prize after they got all seven of the game’s numbers right.
So, the top prize will start again at €1 million and may climb if the payout goes unclaimed.
Players of the UK National Lottery, however, have been even more fortunate, as the British game – which announced results every Wednesday and Saturday – has had jackpot winners following four consecutive draws.
The payout, therefore, has been reset for tomorrow evening and one fan of the game could find themselves with £2.2 million if their numbers are selected.

Fans can choose their numbers themselves or by using a Quick Pick random number selector – just like any other lotto.
The results will be called weekly on Friday nights from the EuroJackpot‘s Helsinki television studio and anybody who gets all the numbers correct could walk away with the top prize.

In addition, there are 11 other prize categories, with the bottom payout going to those with only two main numbers and one extra number – so the new game promises lots of winners with every draw.
Organisers expect the EuroJackpot to become one of Europe’s most popular draws and fans from all over the world can play the lotto online on theLotter.

As well as this, there may be options such as an additional number or a multiplier.
The additional number is one or two digits selected by the player from a smaller number range and is essential to winning the jackpot and other prizes, while a multiplier is an optional extra that could lead to bigger payouts if the entrant chooses to pay for this feature.
Once the lottery fan has entered their selected numbers they click Play and wait for the draw to take place.

People who are interested in the largest jackpots can check out theLotter‘s theBig category, which shows the site’s draws according to the highest declared top prize.
Furthermore, those who want to be clever about how they invest in the lottery could try theSmart category, which lists the best draws to play taking into account the jackpot, taxes, odds and the price of the bet.

In this guide, lotto enthusiasts may be encouraged to buy international lottery tickets by gaining a better understanding of jackpots that are not in US Dollars, sterling, Australian and New Zealand Dollars or Euros.
Brazilian Real
This week’s Brazil Mega Sena jackpot is estimated to be worth R$21.5 million – but what is the equivalent value of a Real to a Dollar?
The current top prize for this lotto is the sum of three rollovers in the past weeks and when converted to the US currency, it is worth $12.2 million – so players can expect more than half the value in Brazilian Real in terms of the Dollar if they choose to play Mega Sena this Saturday (January 28th).
South African Rand
At theLotter, fans can enter the South Africa Lotto and South Africa Powerball draws – but theRand may be stopping them from trying out either of these games.
The South Africa Lotto is currently featured in theSmart, with Saturday’s jackpot looking to be worth 25 million Rand, which is around $3.2 million.
Swedish Kroner
The Scandinavians love their lotteries and offer games that straddle several of the Nordic nations such as the Viking Lotto.
Even though they are part of Europe, Sweden, Norway and Denmark do not trade in Euros and stick to their native Kroner – which may be an alien currency to those unfamiliar.
The next Viking Lotto draw – which also features on theSmart – is due to take place on Wednesday next week (February 1st) and is estimated to have a top prize worth 14 million Swedish Kroner, which in Dollars is $2.1 million.
Turkish Lira
The Turkish games such as the TurkeyLotto 649 and the Super Lotto 654 operate in Turkish Lira. Both these lotteries are on theSmart this week, with the latter’s next drawing taking place tonight (January 26th).
Fans who enter the TurkeySuper Lotto 654 today could bag themselves TRY 3.2 million – which converts to roughly half in Dollars, making $1.7 million.
Polish Zloty
Finally, theSmart is also advertising the Poland Lotto, which has its next drawing this evening for entrants to be in with a chance of winning 6 million Zloty.
This is the sum of a double rollover and in dollars, the tip prize converts to $1.8 million.
by: admin - Category:
European lotto draws are dominating theSmart category here at theLotter – which means those with a penchant for the continent’s lotteries could take home a cash prize if they are savvy about ticket prices and the payouts available.
How theSmart works is that it picks the draws with the best cost-to-benefit ratio, with this being calculated according to tax deductions, the odds and the jackpot total versus the price of the bet.
So people who know their games might be eager to enter Spain’s La Primitiva tomorrow (January 26th), as there is €4.8 million on offer.
Turkey’s Lotto 649 and Super Lotto 654 also feature, with the former offering a 1.2 million Turkish lira payout for jackpot winners at its next draw on Saturday (January 28th) and the latter seeing its top prize jump to 3.2 million Turkish lira in time for Thursday’s game.
The Poland Lotto – which has seen a triple rollover in the past week or so – promises an estimated jackpot of six million polish zloty tomorrow night, but if this top prize goes unclaimed again, fans can enter the next draws on Saturday and Tuesday until it is won.
And the Ireland Lotto is also boasting an attractive jackpot in its game scheduled for tonight (January 25th), as the lottery is offering the person who gets all six main numbers correct a payout of €5.5 million.
But despite this European domination of the Smart list, the US and Australia also featured highly on the table of the best games to play when both ticket price and prize sums are taken into account.
The Australian Saturday Lotto, Wednesday Lotto and Australia Powerball are all featured on the Smart list.
Fans interested in entering the Saturday Lotto this weekend can play for a possible Au$4 million jackpot, while the Wednesday Lotto next week has its top prize set for Au$1 million.
An incredible Au$20 million is up for grabs if players enter the Australia Powerball draw tonight, with this game ranking fourth on the list.
The Indiana Hoosier Lottery – which does not normally feature in theSmart category – is currently ranking third, as its jackpot for this evening’s draw is estimated to be a massive $31.3 million and finally, the Oregon Megabucks also features, with tonight’s game offering a top prize of $19.3 million.

To those people who play the lottery regularly, the jargon associated with buying and filling in a ticket may come as second nature – but for those who may not be familiar with these terms, it could be a little confusing trying to understand the lotto language.
For the players who want to know exactly what the words in the lottery ticket vocabulary mean, here is a guide to the terminology that may come in handy.
Line
Lottery tickets – both online and on a paper slip from the shop – consist of lines. These are filled in by the lotto player using their own numbers or digits chosen with a Quick Pick random number selection.
Additional Number
Additional numbers – which are sometimes called Power Ball, Mega Ball and other names too – appear at the end of a line in some lottery games. Players have to select an additional number from a new range of digits, entering this figure in a different grid from the line of main numbers. These are not to be confused with the bonus balls and multipliers, which have been explained in previous Lottery Terms blogs.
Entry
The entry is when a set of numbers are chosen and the fee to enter the draw has been paid for.
Draw
Finally, the draw or drawing is the event during which numbers – that are usually printed onto balls that are mixed up in a drum – are picked at random by the lottery organisation. The numbers that are called will make up the sequence necessary for players to match to their lotto tickets in order to win the jackpot or secondary prizes.
These terms in practice
So, to put these terms in practice, a lottery fan who wishes to play EuroMillions – either playing lotto online or in a store – selects five numbers from 1-50 for their line themselves or using a Quick Pick.
Next they pick – in this case – two additional numbers from 1-11 to complete their line.
They then submit their entry by paying to play EuroMillions and await the results of the draw – which is when they will find out whether or not they chose the winning numbers.

This week two of the USA’s most famous state lotteries – USA Florida Lotto and USA New York Lotto – are rolling over their jackpots, making for exciting draws for both games on December 14th.
Lottery fans have two days to enter these lottos to be in with a chance of scooping their inviting top prizes in time for Christmas.
After the USA New York Lotto game on Saturday (December 10th) resulted in no winners, the jackpot has increased to $12.5 million.
And perhaps even more excitingly, Saturday’s USA Florida Lottery also saw no lottery ticket holders match the six winning numbers, leading to the top prize ballooning to $45 million.
Fans of the USA Florida Lotto have witnessed the jackpots inflate week after week for a long time now, as the game has seen its jackpots rollover after every draw since September 14th.
So, the winner of Wednesday’s $45 million jackpot is a long time coming – but what better time to land a massive windfall than at Christmas?
Lottery enthusiasts who like to play USA Florida Lotto and USA New York Lotto can do so at theLotter, where they can also check results and estimated payouts for secondary prizes in the event their luck comes in.

Lottery players who are lucky enough to land an enormous jackpot such as the $67 million USA Powerball top payout expected this Saturday (December 10th) may not know about the difference between lump sums and annuities.
Those who have read about big winners in the news may have heard these terms bandied about but they may not be entirely sure as to what they mean, but in short, they identify how the lotto winner receives his or her payment.
Lump sum
A lump sum is a popular way of getting hold of lottery winnings because this means the amount a person is entitled to – in some cases after tax – is then given to the individual or deposited into their bank account as a cash payment all in one go, rather than being released in instalments over a number of years.
Annuity
An annuity is a jackpot win that is collected in instalments over a number of years rather than in one go.
Lottery games sometimes operate with annuities to create higher jackpots because this means they can offer bigger prizes than their immediate cash holdings will allow.
An annuity-backed jackpot winner will collect their prize money in instalments over a period of several years – usually 20 or 25 years.

The USA is one nation that loves its lottery games, with a recent survey revealing one-in-five Americans knows a lotto winner personally.
And it is no surprise the country is in love with playing the lottery, because with big-prize draws such as USA Mega Millions and the USA Florida Lotto, it is hard to resist the hype these enormous jackpots bring about.
According to Poll Position, 62 per cent of all Americans have entered a lottery draw at some point – which also includes playing the lotto online.
This week there are some really big jackpot draws taking place in the US, with the next USA Mega Millions game taking place tomorrow (December 6th) with a top prize of $87 million.
The USA Powerball draw on Wednesday (December 7th) promises an estimated $52 million payout to anybody who gets all five numbers plus the Powerball correct.
Furthermore, the next USA Florida Lotto game – which is also on Wednesday – is going to have a top prize of around $41 million, while the Indiana Hoosier Lottery draw looks to have a jackpot of $24 million when the balls are drawn that evening too.
Fans of these great games can have a go at winning a juicy payout and check estimated jackpots and lottery results at theLotter.

Going for the number 13 could reduce a person’s chances of having to share an Italian SuperEnalotto jackpot, as it has been revealed that many players consider this digit unlucky, which could mean fewer people select it when entering a lottery draw.
According to MSN Money, aversion to the digit 13 – which is also known as triskaidekaphobia – could mean that if the ball with that number on it is drawn during a lotto game, less people may have selected it, resulting in a lower chance of sharing a payout with somebody who chose the same numbers on their ticket.
Italian SuperEnalotto fans can also apply this same logic with the number seven, because in Europe this is considered a lucky digit and is therefore more likely to be chosen by superstitious lottery players – which might mean skipping seven reduces the chances of sharing a prize.
Finally, it was recommended not to neglect numbers over 31 – as anything under this number is more popular because of lotto fans’ fondness for picking birthdays when playing the lottery.
Lottery fans may want to see if these tips work out for them when they play the next Italian SuperEnalotto draw tomorrow (December 6th).
The game could make a lucky lotto player very happy indeed, as the jackpot is estimated to be €40 million – which could make the holiday season a little easier on the wallet.

A Canadian lotto winner is either laying low or has not realised they have scooped C$21 million playing their favourite draw last week.
Fans of such north American lottery games as Canada Lotto 649 may be interested to learn that Ontario lotto officials told the Toronto Sun that lucky players who scoop prizes tend to make themselves known quite soon after they realise their good fortune, but sometimes they wait before collecting their riches.
Spokesman for the province’s lottery office Tony Bitonti said: “We do know where it’s been purchased … it’s part of our prize verification process.”
He added that sometimes lotto winners show up at the retailer and other times they will go straight to the lottery headquarters brandishing their winning numbers.
Mr Bitonti revealed that when such fortunate lotto fans come forward, they are interviewed before any cheques are handed out to ascertain where they entered the draw and how often they play the same numbers.
The winning Canada Lotto Max ticket is said to have been bought in Barrie and fans can check the results of the draw online at theLotter.

Shortly after news emerged that three men from a wealthy part of Connecticut landed the USA Powerball jackpot, it was revealed there was a fourth gent involved – their client.
However, wealth management professionals Greg Skidmore, Tim Davidson and Brandon Lacoff – who won $254 million playing the lottery this month – have denied this speculation.
The three males claim they bought their lotto ticket together on a whim and upon realising the good news that their luck had come through set up a trust fund for the top prize.
After their story hit the papers, Thomas Gladstone, who is said to be the landlord of the company the winners all work for, revealed the assets experts are just fronting for another person in order to maintain his anonymity.
In response to these allegations, Messrs Skidmore, Davidson and Lacoff released a statement from their jointly-held Putnam Avenue Family Trust saying: “To be clear, there are a total of three trustees and there is no anonymous fourth participant.”
The gents named their fund after the street they all work on together.
USA Powerball fans may need such a trust fund if fortune favours them tonight (November 30th), as this evening’s draw is expected to yield a jackpot worth $31 million.

Many lotto winners may have difficulty when it comes to managing huge sums of cash following a lottery windfall, but three lucky players from Connecticut are more than qualified to take good care of their cash.
The fortunate lotto fans scooped $254 million playing USA Powerball after buying a ticket together over a month ago and know just how to handle their money owing to their jobs as wealth managers.
Gregg Skidmore, Tim Davidson and Brandon Lacoff work in a small start-up firm called Bell Asset Management in Greenwich – one of the richest towns in the country.
They came forward after mulling over the win and founded the Putnam Avenue Family Trust – named after the street they all work on – which is where the after-tax lottery lump sum will be held.
Connecticut lottery officials have confirmed that this USA Powerball win is the state’s biggest ever and is the 12th largest in the history of the game.
All three men have said that a generous proportion of their winnings will be going to good causes.
Lotto fans who like to play online Powerball can check out theLotter, as tomorrow’s (November 30th) jackpot for the popular game is set to be $31 million.

For some lottery winners, getting used to owing a large amount of money can be a daunting thing, but for one USA Powerball player, the luxury lifestyle began even before he collected his prize.
According to Wtop, Shawn Niedomanski rocked up to the Maryland Lottery headquarters in a chauffeur-driven limousine with three of his best friends and his wife, brother and nephew to claim his $200,000 windfall.
The fortunate lotto fan had waited two weeks to go and see lottery officials about his prize money, deciding to drop by on his 50th birthday to make the social occasion even more memorable.
But despite his grand arrival to collect the lump cash sum, Mr Niedomanski has got both feet firmly on the ground when it comes to how he will spend his winnings, revealing he will use the cash to pay off his bills.
Lottery fans who do not live in the States like Mr Niedomanski can still get in on the action and play online Powerball at theLotter.
The next draw will take place on Saturday (November 26th) and lotto enthusiasts who take part could win as much as $25 million.
