Euro Millions rollover winner ‘takes home €48.9 million’- January 23rd 2012

  by: admin - Category:

A Euro Millions rollover winner is now one of the wealthiest lotto fans in theUK after winning €48.9 million on Friday (January 20th).

The jackpot has been on the rise since January 6th when one lucky soul won €36.5 million – which was the first top prize paid out to a fortunate ticketholder in 2012.

Very little is known about the new multi-millionaire, apart from the fact they are from theUKand came forward to collect their prize over the weekend.

The EuroMillions fan is now the seventh-wealthiest lottery winner in theUK and has more cash in the bank than many celebrities and business chiefs – and could even win a place on the Sunday Times Rich List when it is published later this year.

A spokesperson has claimed the prize money may already be in the individual’s account, as the funds are allowed to be transferred to the mystery lottery fan as soon as the banks open today and their claim has been verified.

It has not been revealed yet if they will go public like previous jumbo EuroMillions prize winners Christine and Colin Weir from Largs inScotland, who won the biggest jackpot in UK history worth €185 million last July, or Dave and Angela Dawes, who landed €121 million – the third-largest – in October.

In 2010, an anonymous EuroMillions player won €135.8 million – but opted to remain out of the media.

A representative from the country’s official lottery organisation Camelot said: “This is fantastic news – we’re absolutely delighted to have yet another huge EuroMillions win here in the UK. We have plenty of champagne on ice and look forward to welcoming the lucky ticketholder into The National Lottery millionaires’ club.”

Now the EuroMillions jackpot has been reset to its starter sum and players can start playing for this refreshed top prize for tomorrow’s (January 24th) draw.

The new payout is now totalled at €15 million – but may be set to increase if there is another rollover.

Fans who want to get involved can do so at theLotter, where they can play online, check results and find out more about some of the world’s most exciting draws.

EuroMillions winners ‘kept lotto ticket in an unlikely place’ – January 17th 2012

  by: admin - Category:

The pressure to keep a winning lottery ticket safe must be unbearable for those lucky enough to choose the correct numbers, but oneYorkshire family knew exactly where to put their slip for safekeeping.

Judy and Frank Whitmore from Tockwith in the UK landed a €1.2 million cash prize playing EuroMillions just before Christmas last month and decided that they would stow their lottery ticket safely away in an antique teapot before taking it to the lottery headquarters to collect their payout.

Ms Whitmore explained that the hiding place has sentimental value because it belonged to her husband’s great-great-grandmother.

She noted that the teapot is kept on the kitchen shelf and she knew it would be a safer place than the windowsill or her purse – where she usually keeps her lottery tickets.

The couple realised their luck had come through when they checked their EuroMillions numbers on Christmas Eve.

Ms Whitmore said she was so excited that she had to ask her son to check the numbers and call the lottery for her, because neither she nor her husband could speak.

When it dawned on them, the couple – who are in their 60s – admitted they screamed with excitement.

After the realisation they had won a fortune began to sink in, the family went for a stroll to regain a sense of normality.

“We just wandered down the river with great big smiles on our faces and occasionally laughing,” Ms Whitmore said.

The pair did not reveal the happy news to their other two children until they were all together on Christmas Day – with the lottery win coming in as a late yuletide gift for the whole family.

But what will the Whitmores be spending their newfound EuroMillions wealth on? The couple have revealed they want to enjoy themselves and said they will buy a new car – perhaps a Nissan Rav4 – and plan some walking holidays across the UK.

Lotto fans who want a taste of the lifestyle this family can now enjoy may wish to play EuroMillions in time for tomorrow’s (January 17th) draw, which promises a jackpot worth around €35 million following numerous rollovers.

Friday EuroMillions results made winners in France and Spain – January 10th 2012

  by: admin - Category:

It was one of the most fervently coveted jackpots available for the taking, but on Friday, the EuroMillions results made two ticketholders multi-millionaires.

The Euro lotto top prize had been rolling over since December 16th, with the six draws in between then and last week’s win boosting the top prize to more than €73 million.

Now, the lucky lottery fans will be splitting this enormous payout between them, meaning they get to take home a fortune of over €36 million apiece.

Not much is known about these fortunate players except for the fact that one of the individuals bought their lottery ticket in Spain and the other in France, but as they only won their enormous cash prizes a matter of days ago, they may yet decide to go public and reveal their plans for the future.

Coincidentally, the last EuroMillions jackpot winner was also Spanish, with the lucky player landing more than €46 million when they got all the right numbers in their entry for the December 16th draw after a triple rollover.

Before that, a EuroMillions top prize was shared between a Spanish lotto fan and a British person after the October 21st draw last year, with the pair splitting that €48 million between them.

Spain’s biggest Euro lotto winner last year claimed their €105 million prize following the May 13th draw, but it was a French player who won one of the largest jackpot sums going in 2011, with an anonymous lottery player from Calvados taking home over €162 million in September.

Before that, a fortunate fan from France claimed EuroMillions top prizes worth €27.6 million in May and €23 in July, while a Spanish person netted a €28 million windfall back in February.

Now the EuroMillions jackpot has reset to €15 million and lotto fans can choose the numbers for their lottery ticket online at theLotter to make sure their entries are primed and ready in time for the next draw.

People can play to be in with a chance of winning tonight (January 10th) and could also enter their lucky numbers on Friday, when the second draw of the week is scheduled to take place.

Who won the EuroMillions at Christmas? – January 5th 2012

  by: admin - Category:

Lotto hype was at its zenith in the run-up to the December holiday season and now 2012 is well under way, fans may be left wondering just who won the EuroMillions at Christmas.

It seems lady lucky was smiling down on the little town of Grange-over-SandsinCumbriathis yuletide, as a family from the northernUKcounty realised they were millionaires on the big day itself.

Karen Shaw and her husband Anthony had entered the EuroMillions on the Friday (December 23rd) before Christmas, but left their lottery tickets under the tree to check while opening their presents with their children.

The couple – who have two grown-up children, Sara and Karl – forgot to look at their numbers on Christmas morning and did not inspect them until later that afternoon, which is when they realised they had landed a €1.2 million fortune.

Mrs Shaw said: “We eventually all sat down around 16:00 GMT on Christmas Day to open the presents and I remembered the tickets. I had put them in an envelope under the tree.”

“Karl was looking at numbers on his phone and suddenly said, ‘You had better check it – I think it’s a winner’.”karen and anthony shaw PA Who won the EuroMillions at Christmas? January 5th 2012

The mum-of-two manages a sheltered housing scheme and admitted she had only bought the EuroMillions tickets on a whim.

And the family have not wasted any time when it comes to how they will spend their newfound wealth.

One of the first things they will use the cash for is helping their children get out of the family home and onto the property ladder, as Mrs Shaw says she would like to have less mess to clear up.

Then once their son and daughter are sorted out, the Shaws have decided they would like to take a luxury cruise toAlaska, as well as treat the rest of the family and ensure all their loved ones are financially secure.

Lottery fans who would like a taste of the good life the Shaw family are now enjoying can enter the lottery online and check EuroMillions results at theLotter to be in with a chance of landing Friday’s (January 6th) €73 million top prize.

Will 2012 be a record-breaking year for the lottery? – December 26th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

As the new year approaches, some people may be taking stock of the amazing things that happened in 2011 and are perhaps wondering what will be making the headlines in 2012.

This year was certainly a big one in terms of memorable lottery wins and none more so than the record-smashing EuroMillions jackpot of €185 million, which was won by Scottish couple Christine and Colin Weir back in July.

Indeed, there have been two major wins for the game since the pair from Largs landed their life-altering windfall, with Dave and Angela Dawes from Wisbech inEnglandscooping a €101 million in autumn after an anonymous French lotto fan landed a €162 million jackpot.

And maybe 2012 will set some new top jackpot wins for the biggest American lotteries, however it has been some time since those records have been broke.

USA Powerball holds the record for the largest top prize ever won by one person – a $340 million payout claimed byOregonman Steve West in 2006.

Furthermore, the USAMega Millions record jackpot is the biggest in the history ofNorth America.

The mind-boggling sum of $390 million was won by truck driver Eddie Nabors from Georgia and builder Harold Massner fromNew Jerseyback in 2007.

Lotto fans keen to find out where their luck will take them in 2012 can find out at theLotter, where they can enter draws and check results online.

Europe lottery draws result in a new year of rollovers – January 4th 2012

  by: admin - Category:

The excitement of beginning the new year seems to have prompted millions of fans of the Europelottery draws to buy up tickets in the hopes of starting 2012 with a pocketful of cash.

But it seems luck was thin on the ground at the end of December, with the continent’s most popular lottos rolling over, inflating their jackpot values just in time for the start of the year.

Lotter pic fireworks Europe lottery draws result in a new year of rollovers January 4th 2012The EuroMillions jackpot rolled over again yesterday (January 3rd) after ending 2011 without making any new millionaires.

This boosted the total payout to €73 million and second prize to over €1.3 million if a sole ticketholder strikes lucky.

No stranger to rollovers – the thrilling Italian SuperEnalotto draw saw its top prize ratchet up again on the last day of the year, as nobody had the requisite six main numbers and the Jolly number.

Fans of the game can play again tomorrow (January 5th) to be in with a chance of starting off the 2012 with a cool €49.6 million in the bank.

The Italian SiVince Tutto also saw 2011 come to a close without anybody landing its top prize on December 30th.

Its monthly draws mean fans will have to wait 21 days to be in with a chance of taking home €15 million.

In its first game of the year, the Spanish El Gordo also witnessed its jackpot roll over to €9.1 million, as its New Year’s Day draw saw nobody land the top prize by picking all five main numbers correctly plus the bonus number.

France’s Loto is another lottery that rounded off 2011 with an exciting draw, but on December 31st and on January 2nd there were no players lucky enough to bag the top prize, so it is now inflated to an exciting €9 million.

Despite all these rollovers, one lottery did manage to make somebody a millionaire in time for midnight on New Year’s Eve.

The UK National Lottery‘s December 31st draw resulted in one lucky fan taking home £1.3 million to start their 2012 in style – a cash prize that may be more than welcome after the expense of Christmas.

What are 2011′s big EuroMillions winners doing now? – January 3rd 2012

  by: admin - Category:

What are 2011s big EuroMillions winners doing now? January 3rd 2012Last year, the EuroMillions lottery made two couples obscenely wealthy, with the newspapers following their every move after they opted to go public with their enormous fortunes – but what have they been doing since their numbers came in playing the Euro lotto?

Christine and Colin Weir of the marina town of Largs in Scotland scooped a €185 million jackpot in July after months of rollovers.

The husband and wife pair have not been shy about how they have spent their windfall, lavishing €185,000 on cars for friends in November by snapping up six vehicles at a local Suzuki dealership, according to the Daily Record.

In addition to splashing out on a holiday to the Canary Islands, lengthy stays in luxury hotels and incredible gifts for friends, the couple have also put their lotto cash to good use, donating a sum to keep the historic Waverley paddle steamer tourist attraction afloat, rescuing it from being decommissioned.

Their generosity does not end there, however, as Mrs Weir made sure her hard-working former colleagues at the Ravenscraig Hospital in Greenock received a share of her and her husband’s fortune at Christmas, giving nearly €60,000 to her friends there.

She also donated nearly €6,000 to patients spending their festive season at the hospital.

But what about 2011′s other big EuroMillions winners?

Dave and Angie Dawes of Wisbech landed an incredible €115 million playing the Euro lotto in October, making them the third-richest lottery winners in the history of the UK.

The couple made their generosity well known, announcing upon landing the fortune that they would be making 20 of their friends millionaires.

Indeed, the mother of Mr Dawes, Jean Smith, was named as one of the handful of people the pair would share their lottery wealth with.

The couple have not changed too much since landing their enormous payout, with newspapers reporting that during a stay at a luxury hotel in London they eschewed the caviar and champagne in favour of cups of tea and pints of lager.

However, they have enjoyed a chauffeur-driven Mercedes S-Class and a shopping spree on Oxford Street since scooping their enormous prize.

Dave and Angela Dawes tied the knot in December in a simple ceremony in Gretna Green rather than the A-list bash they could have afforded, with just a handful of guests witnessing their marriage by candlelight.

Record-smashing EuroMillions winners ‘top Trivial Pursuit poll’ – December 14th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

As if landing a €185 million EuroMillions fortune was not reward enough for Christine and Colin Weir of Largs in Scotland, the record-smashing lottery winners have been recognised by the famous board game Trivial Pursuit for their good fortune.

According to For Argyll, the now obscenely wealthy couple have been voted the Biggest Winners of 2011 by avid fans of the game who were asked to list the highlights of this year.

The results of the poll are expected to feature in future editions of Trivial Pursuit, but it is unlikely Christine and Colin Weir are going to be forgotten by lottery players any time soon, especially as the media has been following their every move since going public in July.

In the survey, the winners came out on top, while the England Ashes-winning cricket team and Pippa Middleton – Kate Middleton’s little sister – came in second and third.

This year has been a very exciting one for EuroMillions fans, but 2011 is not over yet and there are still five more draws in total until the New Year.

Lotto players may want to buy their lottery tickets online, with Friday’s (December 16th) jackpot estimated to be €46 million.

What’s the latest time to buy a EuroMillions ticket? – December 12th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

Lotto fans may be wondering what is the latest time to buy a EuroMillions ticket, because tomorrow’s (December 13th) lottery draw could result in a very merry Christmas for one lucky lotto player.

The next game is expected to have a jackpot of €33 million as a result of a triple rollover and millions of people from all over the world will be getting in the game for a chance to take home this enormous top prize.

But how long do they have to buy their lottery ticket before the draw starts?

Fans who like to play the EuroMillions online can purchase tickets until 19:30 GMT on Tuesdays and Fridays in time for the draws set to take place that evening at 21:00 GMT.

All tickets bought after that time will be for the next draw.

Those who are new to the EuroMillions lottery may not know that the game is actually the most-played in Europe and will always have a minimum jackpot of €15 million.

This year, the game has resulted in some pretty lucky lottery ticket holders, with Christine and Colin Weir of Largs in Scotland scooping the biggest ever prize in July, taking home €185 million – which they have spent on a new home, holidays and the Scottish National Party’s campaign for independence.

Buy EuroMillions ticket online ‘to receive win alerts’ – December 7th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

If lotto fans buy a EuroMillions ticket online they may avoid missing out on a huge payout – as the hunt is now on for one lottery player who may not realise they are entitled to €1.2 million in prize money.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the winning EuroMillions ticket was purchased in Cannock Chase in June, but so far nobody has claimed the life-changing sum of money.

Time is running out for this lotto fan, as they have until 15:00 GMT to collect their winnings on Sunday (December 11th) before the cash is redistributed to the lottery‘s good causes.

By playing the EuroMillions online at theLotter, people can avoid this unfortunate series of events because their ticket and numbers for each individual lottery draw are saved digitally, eradicating the risk of losing a slip because it fell out of a pocket or was thrown away by mistake.

Furthermore, lotto fans receive alters if they win prizes, so they can collect their winnings straight away without having to paw through their tickets and check the numbers against what the newspaper or internet says.

The clock is ticking for the lottery player from Cannock Chase, however and a spokesman for the UK National Lottery has said the organisation is “desperate” to get in touch with them before it’s too late.

“We’re urging everyone to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing lottery ticket could be hiding so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club,” he said.

EuroMillions winners ‘opt for a simple wedding ceremony’ – December 5th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

EuroMillions winners Dave and Angela Dawes have celebrated their lottery windfall together and tied the knot, but the couple decided not to let their wealth dictate their perfect day.

The pair – who landed a €101 million jackpot in October – had the means to hold a ceremony and reception the likes of which are only usually experienced by Hollywood A-listers and royalty, but in the name of love, they opted for a simple event attended by just five family members.

Dave and Angela Dawes said their vows at Gretna Green – a wedding location favoured by eloping couples for centuries – in a candlelit ceremony at Anvil Hall on Friday (December 2nd).

The bride wore a cream dress and arrived by horse-drawn carriage and was met by the groom, who wore a morning suit and was supported by his two sons from a previous marriage.

Neither could afford to tie the knot before their lotto win, so celebrated finally being able to do so with champagne and steak at the Gretna Chase Hotel.

Lottery fans who enjoy playing the EuroMillions can do so at theLotter in time for tomorrow’s (December 6th) draw, which has an estimated jackpot of €15 million.

EuroMillions winners ‘blow €185,000 on cars for friends’ – November 23rd 2011

  by: admin - Category:

This summer’s record-smashing EuroMillions winners – Christine and Colin Weir from Largs in Scotland – have lavished €185,000 on new cars for their friends.

According to the Daily Record, the couple – who scooped €185 million in July playing the European lottery – have snapped up six vehicles on sale at a local Suzuki dealership, keeping two of the Japanese autos for themselves.

Their choice of car could be proof that the multimillionaires are relatively down to earth, given that their incredible wealth could afford them the world’s most expensive car, a €1.4 million Aston Martin One77.

In addition to buying Suzukis, the Weirs let one friend choose his own new set of wheels and picked up the bill for the black €92,000 Mercedes when he had decided what he wanted.

An insider close to the pair told the newspaper: “Since their incredible win, they have helped out lots of friends but have done so discreetly. They don’t want any fuss but they have always been generous.”

Indeed, the recipient of one of the Suzukis the Weirs purchased has claimed the lotto win will not change them and by purchasing cars from local showrooms they are also doing the region’s economy some good.

Lottery fans who have their hearts set on a Suzuki – or any make of car for that matter – may want to buy EuroMillions tickets online at theLotter to be in with a chance of winning Friday’s (November 25th) €35 million jackpot.

What would you buy with a €15 million EuroMillions jackpot? – November 16th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

Yesterday’s (November 15th) EuroMillions draw resulted in one player scooping the €15 million top prize thanks to matching all five numbers correctly plus the two Lucky Star bonus balls.

The fortunate lotto fan is yet to make themselves known to the world – after all, it has not even been a full day since they realised they now own a life-changing sum of cash – but it begs the question, what would you buy with all that money?

Some helpful tips for spending a EuroMillions win have been suggested by the Daily Telegraph.

Toasting one’s success is very important when something this exciting happens to them, so the newspaper suggests investing in some good-quality champagne, such as the Methuselah of Cristal Brut 1990, which sold at auction in 2005 in New York for €13,197.

But what should a fabulously wealthy lottery winner nibble on while they celebrate their newfound riches? Why caviar of course. With even a kilo of the world’s most expensive Almas caviar – which comes in a 24-carat gold tin – barely denting their bank balance at €18,700.

Finally, what does a multi-millionaire look at while they are sipping their Cristal and snacking on Almas?

The newspaper suggests investing in a beautiful timepiece, such as the Hubolt Black Caviar Bang watch, which is encrusted with diamonds and is priced at €738,000.

Swiss lotto fan wins €67 million playing EuroMillions – November 14th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

After several weeks of repeated rollovers, the EuroMillions jackpot was scooped by one lucky lotto fan from Switzerland.

The top prize had climbed to a whopping €67.9 million for Friday’s (November 11th) game.

According to local news site Blick, the anonymous lottery player is now one of the wealthiest lottery winners from Switzerland, with only one Portuguese national taking home a bigger prize in 2005, when he scooped €79 million in the same game.

Very little is known about the lucky lotto fan apart from the fact he or she bought their lottery ticket on Friday afternoon before the draw in a shopping centre in Zurich.

So now the EuroMillions jackpot sum has been reset to €15 million – a prize that is certainly not to be sniffed at.

Lottery fans can try their luck at scooping this generous payout by playing tomorrow (November 15th) and Friday (November 18th) at theLotter.

EuroMillions jackpot winners ‘use prize to keep boat afloat’ – November 10th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

A couple who won the largest EuroMillions jackpot in the history of the game this year will be using some of their winnings to keep an historic boat from being decommissioned.

According to the Sun, Christine and Colin Weir – who scooped a record-smashing €185 million payout playing the lottery in July – will be providing some of the money needed to ensure the Waverly carries on doing its tourist trips.

The vessel – which is the world’s last ocean-going paddle steamer – regularly stops off at their hometown of Largs in Scotland and the EuroMillions winners claim it holds a special place in their hearts.

Last night Mrs Weir said: “We are in discussions with the Waverley people as we regard the ship as iconic. It is high on our list of causes that should be helped.”

Lotto fans who wish they could use a lottery windfall to keep their local attractions alive can play EuroMillions at theLotter, to be in with a chance of winning tomorrow’s (November 11th) jackpot of €66 million.

Record-smashing EuroMillions winners ‘have political agenda’ – November 8th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

It is not uncommon for lottery winners to spend some of their new windfall on causes they support and this summer’s record-smashing EuroMillions players Christine and Colin Weir are doing just that – by donating to their chosen political party.

The Largs couple – who scooped €185 million playing the draw in July – are helping to finance Scottish National Party (SNP) leader Alex Salmond’s campaign for Scottish independence, which could see the country separated from the rest of the UK.

Indeed, the Weirs have a passion for politics, with Mr Weir standing as the SNP candidate in Ayr in the 1987 election.

The couple are reported to have donated a “seven-figure sum” to Mr Salmond’s cause.

A party source said: “There is no doubt Colin is committed to the cause of independence and he even has a life membership with the SNP.  He wants to help the party make a difference.”

Lotto fans who want to get involved in such causes like Christine and Colin Weir can play tonight’s (November 8th) EuroMillions draw to be in with a chance of taking home €53 million.

EuroMillions winners ‘splash out on a lager and an Indian meal’- October 26th 2011

Dave and Angela Dawes, who scooped €115 million last month playing EuroMillions, have been seen celebrating their enormous lotto windfall with a meal out – but unlike other lucky lottery winners, this pair is not wallowing in caviar and champagne.

An insider at the luxury hotel they stayed at in London revealed to the Star that Mr Dawes was unimpressed with the food on the establishment’s menu and asked the chef to knock together a curry for him, which he washed down with a pint of lager.

The couple have been relishing their newfound lottery wealth in other ways, however, spending time at the Apple store in the capital’s West End before hopping into a chauffeur-driven Mercedes S-Class to complete their shopping spree on Oxford Street.

Australia and Caribbean cruises ‘popular with lottery winners’ – October 24th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

More often than not, the first thing a lotto fan lucky enough to scoop a massive jackpot playing games such as EuroMillions will do is go on holiday – and one expert has revealed which locations are a proven hit with lottery winners.

Celebrity life coach Eva Speakman claims trips to Australian and Caribbean cruises are the most popular places that such lucky lotto players choose to jet off to – perhaps because flights down under from the western hemisphere make it unreachable for many people, while a luxury berth on a liner offers a great deal of appeal.

However, such vacations do not suit everybody and Ms Speakman noted that some people cannot choose between dream destinations – and so book two holidays.

“Most people who do want to travel would like to experience both the nice hot climates of the Caribbean and skiing in the Austrian Alps,” she explained.

The next EuroMillions draw takes place tomorrow (October 25th) and lucky lottery fans who get in the game could find they are on their way to the Caribbean or Australia sooner than they originally thought.

EuroMillions winners are ‘lucky to have so many friends to share wealth’ – October 13th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

Following the news that Dave and Angela Dawes have become the UK’s third-richest lottery winners scooping €115 million playing EuroMillions last week, one journalist has commented that the love birds are lucky to have so many friends they want to share their fortune with.

According to the Daily Mail’s Jan Moir, the pair are drawing up a list of a dozen-or-so people that they will make millionaires, with those who qualify for this incredible cash gift having supported the pair in recent years.

“They are, indeed, a lucky couple, in more ways than one. There cannot be many of us who have 20 friends who have helped us throughout our lives,” she remarked.

Ms Moir added that the pair is now the envy of the entire nation and whatever they decide to do with their newfound lotto riches, they will be doing it in style “with a cherry on top”.

The newspaper reported earlier this week that Ms Dawes is planning to buy fast cars and luxury mansions, while her other half is intending to purchase a new engagement ring for his betrothed.

EuroMillions winners pledge to share their fortune with friends – October 12th 2011

A pair of EuroMillions winners have pledged to share their winnings with a dozen of their closest friends.

Dave and Angie Dawes – who live in a €79-a-week rented flat in London – won €115 million playing the European lottery last week, making them the third-richest lotto winners in the UK.

According to the Daily Mail, the pair are drawing up a list of loved ones they want to see share in their wealth.

Ms Dawes – who has one son from a previous marriage – is said to be dreaming of a life of fast cars and luxurious mansions, while her other half has promised to buy her a new engagement ring with their newfound riches.

The couple are not yet married and are planning their ceremony to take place next year.

Ms Dawes told the newspaper that the event will be a “bit more glamorous now”.

Camelot has revealed that the lucky lotto fan is now €116.4 million wealthier after their ticket matched all the numbers called on Friday’s (October 7th) draw, entitling them to the gigantic payout.

The jackpot – which ballooned over the weeks thanks to multiple rollovers – will make the fortunate lotto fan the 703rd-richest individual in the UK, with a personal wealth equivalent to legendary rocker David Bowie.

A spokesman from the National Lottery stated: “There will be no information on whether it is an individual or syndicate winner, or where the ticket was purchased, unless the ticket-holder decides to go public.”

So now the EuroMillions prize has been reset at €15 million – a life-changing amount for any lottery fan.

To be in with a chance of winning, lotto players can enter online at theLotter before tomorrow’s (October 11th) draw.

Would you use a EuroMillions win to ‘keep up with the Joneses’? – October 7th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

Lotto fans keen for a chance of winning a EuroMillions jackpot may have dreams of splashing some of that lovely cash on a holiday or a flashy new car – but some may be more interested in using it to show off to the neighbours.

This is according to life and business coach Rasheed Ogunlaru of Rasaru.com, who claims that competitive people are likely to stay competitive even after landing a huge payout from the lottery and that this need for “keeping up with the Joneses” should be resolved in other ways besides spending.

“Very often we want that windfall, we want a lot of money and we assume it’s going to solve all of our financial problems,” he stated, suggesting that taking a step back and absolving any hang-ups is a healthy way to begin a new life as a multi-millionaire.

With this in mind, lotto fans may want to get in the game today (October 7th) and play EuroMillions.

Tuesday’s (October 5th) jackpot was a rollover so now the top prize is an incredible €119 million.

Lottery fans eagerly awaiting tonight’s (October 4th) EuroMillions draw may already know how they will spend a multi-million-euro jackpot, but the National Lottery has reminded fans that such a prize can unlock the doors to a celebrity lifestyle.

Indeed, this evening’s EuroMillions draw could result in one lucky player taking home €1 million in prize money.

A EuroMillions winner has said he is going to make a disused train station into the home of his dreams.

According to the Daily Mirror, 38-year-old railway worker Mark Benbow had promised his wife that he would transform the dilapidated building in Merthyr Tydfil in Wales into a five-bedroom house for their family.

The father-of-four said he will be using his €1.1 million in lottery winnings to pay for the renovation, with the finished design including a darts room for Mr Benbow and his buddies.

EuroMillions rollovers see jackpot increase – September 28th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

The EuroMillions lottery is famous for producing some of the world’s wealthiest lotto winners – with two record-smashing prizes claimed in the second half of this year alone.

Its enormous top payouts are all thanks to the frequency of its rollovers, which drive up those exciting payouts to such heights that can land the eventual beneficiary on one of the world’s rich lists.

Last week, it was announced that a lottery player in France has become the country’s 247th wealthiest man or woman after claiming the second largest EuroMillions prize of €162.2 million.

Furthermore, in July this year, Christine and Colin Weir from Scotland were whisked to 418th place on the Sunday Times Rich List after bagging the biggest ever EuroMillions jackpot of €185 million.

Yesterday (September 27th), the EuroMillions top prize rolled over again, with the jackpot now standing at a very generous €48 million.

This sum may well be snatched by one lucky lotto fan on Friday (September 30th), when the next draw takes place – but who is to say? Maybe it will rollover yet again, thrilling lottery players across the world.

EuroMillions prize worth over €1 million ‘waiting to be claimed’ – September 21st 2011

  by: admin - Category:

A very lucky EuroMillions player is now more than €1 million richer after their luck came in playing the European lottery earlier this month.

Reports are claiming the winner is from London, because the ticket was bought in the Westminster area of the capital city.

A spokesperson for Camelot, the UK’s lottery authority, said: “We’re urging everyone to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club.”

It could be that the fortunate EuroMillions fan is biding their time and preparing themselves for life as a millionaire, as they have until 15:00 local time on March 4th next year to collect their juicy payout – after which the money will be donated to the lottery’s various charities.

Lotto lovers interested in grabbing a seven-figure sum for themselves in the form of a EuroMillions prize can try their luck on Friday (September 23rd), as the jackpot is set to be €27 million.

Lotto winner thanks Divine intervention for good fortune – September 20th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

One lucky lottery enthusiast has had a lot of good fortune over the years when playing her favourite games, but when asked what her secret to winning is, she claimed it’s down to good old fashioned faith.

Speaking to the Housatonic Times, Linda Westlake from New Milford in Connecticut claimed “Divine intervention” is the reason why she won $100,000 playing the lottery earlier this month (September) and $10,000 a couple of years ago in Arizona.

She says she usually buys two lottery tickets every week and her run of good fortune has resulted in her colleagues giving her the playful nickname Lucky Linda.

Ms Westlake told the newspaper: “I really believe it’s Divine intervention.”

And when asked whether she’s going to carry on buying lottery tickets, the lotto fan said she and her husband would keep on playing.

Another lottery winner said recently that – rather than Divine intervention – patience is what pays off when playing lotto.

North Carolinian Sandra Ham scooped $1 million after picking the same lottery numbers she had been using for years.

Two EuroMillions jackpots claimed in a row – September 19th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

After months of rollovers, one lucky French lotto fan scooped the coveted second-largest EuroMillions jackpot last Tuesday (September 13th), taking home €162.2 million.

And last Friday (September 16th) the refreshed prize of €15 million was apparently claimed by a very fortunate lottery player from neighbouring European country Belgium – so does this mean the EuroMillions trend for rollover top prizes has been broken for the time being?

If so, then there’s no time like the present to get in the game and play EuroMillions with a chance to grab that €15 million jackpot – because the pattern for first tier payouts could end in rollovers again any day now.

The lucky Belgian picked all of the balls drawn in Friday’s game correctly. They were 2, 8, 17, 39, 42 with the Lucky Stars 3 and 10.

And EuroMillions fans who bought a ticket for the August 5th draw may want to have a look for the slip, as the Barnet & Potters Bar Times reported recently that somebody who entered that draw in the area has yet to claim a life-changing €680,000 prize – which will need to be claimed within 180 days of the draw before it goes to charitable causes.

French winner scoops second-biggest EuroMillions jackpot – September 15th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

A very lucky lotto fan from France is said to have scooped the second-largest ever EuroMillions jackpot after the draw on Tuesday (September 13th).

The fortunate Frenchman or woman is now €162.2 million richer, but so far he or she has not claimed the life-changing prize from the Francaise des Jeux lottery organisation.

Reports are suggesting the now hugely wealthy lottery enthusiast is from the famous brandy-producing region of Calvados.

To put their enormous windfall in perspective, the EuroMillions jackpot could buy the anonymous winner some 13.5 million bottles of their homeland’s own Calvados apple spirit with change to spare – but given the circumstances, something from the Champagne province may be a more appropriate beverage to splash out on.

So now, the EuroMillions lottery jackpot starts again at €15 million, but this prize is certainly not one to be sniffed at.

Lottery fans can enter in time for tomorrow’s (September 16th) draw at theLotter to be in with a chance of getting their hands on this fantastic prize.

Lucky lotto fan scoops €162.2 EuroMillions jackpot – September 14th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

A very lucky lottery fan can thank their lucky stars today – as they obviously selected them correctly after scooping the top prize in last night’s (September 13th) EuroMillions draw.

The fortunate lotto player, who has not yet been identified, has landed his or herself a life-altering €162.2 million, after they picked all five balls (9, 28, 30, 32, 49) and the two lucky star bonus balls (9, 10) correctly.

Thanks to this gargantuan payout, if the sole winner is a Brit, they have now been catapulted up to 512th place on the UK’s rich list, making them wealthier than many household name stars of stage, screen and the music scene.

Even though €162.2 million is hardly a sum to be sniffed at, the enormous prize did not beat the EuroMillions record win bagged by Christine and Colin Weir of Largs in Scotland in July this year, who took home €185 million after striking lucky with their numbers.

Second-biggest EuroMillions jackpot ‘up for grabs’ – September 7th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

This week could see many people purchasing a Euromillions lottery ticket online in the hope of landing the second-biggest jackpot in the game’s history.

With nobody emerging victorious from last night’s (September 6th) draw, an 11th rollover means the winning ticket for Friday’s (September 9th) game could bag themselves an enormous €146 million.

The numbers that came out last night were 35, 42, 47, 48 and 50, while the Lucky Stars were 8 and 9.

It means many players will be waiting for the weekend to arrive with great anticipation and high numbers may choose to purchase a ticket online sooner rather than later to ensure they are ready for the draw.

And people may be particularly encouraged to try their luck with the numbers game this week after the last person to win such a grand amount in the EuroMillions was a UK ticket holder, whose hefty cash injection would have propelled them up the Sunday Times rich list to a position similar to that held by global megastar couple David and Victoria Beckham.

Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot to reach €114 million – September 2nd 2011

  by: admin - Category:

Lotto fans out there may be positively itching with anticipation ahead of tonight’s (September 2nd) EuroMillions draw, because the top prize has risen to a whopping €114 million.

This jackpot is one of the biggest in the game’s history, with the world famous, record-smashing €185 million top payout in July going to Christine and Colin Weir of Largs in Scotland.

The second-highest EuroMillions jackpot also went to a British couple in October 2010, when the pair – who opted to remain anonymous – scooped €128 million.

According to UK lottery organisation Camelot, if the prize goes to just a single player tonight then they will become the third-biggest winners in the history of the game.

And with all this hype about the EuroMillions, you would think lotto fans would be memorising their numbers and keeping their tickets safe, but apparently a €680,000 prize won in the UK is still unclaimed.

The Barnet & Potters Bar Times reported that the life-changing sum was won on August 5th after the winner picked the five main numbers correctly.

EuroMillions jackpot ‘keeps on climbing’ – August 30th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

That EuroMillions jackpot just keeps on climbing as another rollover on Saturday (August 27th) saw the top prize creep up to a whopping €97 million.

And lotto fans looking forward to getting in the game the next time this continental lottery draw takes place certainly don’t have long to wait, with the balls due to be called this evening (August 30th).

There are plenty of reasons to pick your favourite lotto numbers for this exciting game, not least because it produced the record-smashing winners from Largs in Scotland Christine and Colin Weir, who walked away with €185 million in July this year.

And even the breakdown prizes are life-changing, with the second payout coming in at more than €133,000 – not a sum to be sniffed at.

Last week, the Barnet & Potters Bar Times in the UK reported that a lucky local EuroMillions fan has a ticket entitling them to a €680,000 payout.

Should EuroMillions jackpot winners take time out? – August 16th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

Lotto players who are lucky enough to have picked all the right numbers for a EuroMillions draw may be overwhelmed by the massive prize they have just won – and one expert has suggested taking a time out is exactly what such fortunate lottery fans should do.

Piya Khanna, executive coach and change consultant with changetosucceed.com, said that at least one week of work is essential to those who find themselves overnight multi-millionaires and does not recommend people quit their jobs immediately.

“[They should] think about what’s really important to them and how they would like their lives to be going forward with the new resources available to them, before making any decisions,” she advised.

Dreams such as a new home, travelling the world and the sort of lifestyle they would like are all things to consider, according to Ms Khanna, as well as long-term security in the form of healthcare and a pension.

And lotto fans who do not mind the thought of becoming obscenely rich may want to play EuroMillions tonight, as the estimated jackpot has skyrocketed to €53 million.

How to spot if a neighbour won the EuroMillions – July 14th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

There’s been much talk since it was revealed the record €185 million EuroMillions jackpot was scooped by a UK lottery player, but as yet nobody knows who the lucky winner is.

The Sun, however, has suggested ways to spot if the new multi-millionaire lotto fan is based closer to home than you might have originally thought.

One thing to look out for, it recommended, was a super yacht, as these may look a little out of place in most humble British neighbourhoods.

In addition, if the family dog has been given a celebrity-style makeover then this may also indicate there is cash to be splashed.

Furthermore, if big name performers are seen plodding up the drive with their mics and sound guys for a private show then this is a dead giveaway there’s serious money being spent all of a sudden.

And if you’d like the chance to plant an enormous powerboat in front of your home to make the neighbours jealous then entering the next EuroMillions draw on Friday (July 15th) on theLotter could give you the chance to take home a lottery win.

A lottery fan from the UK has won €185 million in last night’s (July 12th’s) EuroMillions lotto draw, making them Europe’s biggest ever winner.

It has not been revealed where in the UK this lucky soul is based, nor if the lotto ticket was bought by an individual or by a group syndicate, but if the winning numbers were picked by one person then they will be catapulted instantly to 430th on the Sunday Times Rich List.

In addition to the EuroMillions making one fortunate Brit €185 million richer, it has also made two more UK-based people millionaires – as two players with five matching numbers and one lucky star are each taking home €1.94 million.

A spokesman for the lottery said: “This is amazing news – we are absolutely delighted that a UK ticket-holder has scooped the entire €185 million jackpot.”

The EuroMillions lotto draw reached an almighty climax last night after 14 rollovers.

Ticket purchases were predicted to have peaked in the afternoon at a frantic rate of 900 sales per second, according to the Daily Mirror.

Part of the fun of playing the EuroMillions is daydreaming about how you’d spend all that lovely money after you hit the jackpot.

Given that tonight’s (July 5th‘s) prize pot is a whopping €171,000,000 the Daily Telegraph has revealed how this massive sum could be spent very quickly in just one week.

On day one, buy Francesco Guardi’s painting Venice, a view of the Rialto Bridge, Looking North, which is up for auction tomorrow and expected to go for between €16 million and €27 million.

Then, buy a luxury penthouse for €17 million, just like the tenth floor flat on Park Lane in London’s Mayfair, which comes with a private lift and three terraces.

On day three, splash out on a private island in the Bahamas for €17 million, followed by a luxury super yacht like the 68-metre Sycara V, which has five double cabins and a master suite.

By day five, you might be tempted to purchase the special edition Bugatti Veyron – complete with porcelain fittings – for €1.5 million.

Day six could see you take a leaf out of diamond dealer Laurence Graff’s book and spend €32 million on a rare pink diamond and on the last day of your spending spree, some retail therapy might be in order.

Why not spend €4 million and get your hands on some luxury items like Gucci’s sunset crocodile skin tote bags?

To win the EuroMillions, all you have to do is hit all five balls and both bonus balls, then you’ll be laughing all the way to the bank.

So head to theLotter today to see if you can win the EuroMillions.

Next EuroMillions winner could become richer than Rod Stewart – June 27th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

If one British lottery fan wins the jackpot in tomorrow’s (June 28th’s) EuroMillions draw, they could take home a life-changing amount of cash, making them richer than a world-famous rock star.

According to the Daily Star, the next big prize of €132 million would make the winner wealthier than 66-year-old Scottish pop legend Rod Stewart, who is said to be worth €129 million.

This week’s draw – if won by a single ticket-holder – would beat the previous largest payout of €127 million, which one anonymous lottery player took home last year after picking the five winning numbers and bonus balls for the game.

And one lucky EuroMillions fan from the Highlands was being urged to come forward last week, as the John O’Groat Journal and Caithness Courier reported that a £289,920.50 lottery win was waiting to be collected after five main numbers and one bonus ball were chosen by a local player.
