  by: admin - Category:

Two US draws are being welcomed into theLotter family in the coming weeks – and fans may already be on the edge of their seats ready to play lotto online.

Both the Illinois Lotto and Illinois Little Lotto will be included in the wide range of worldwide games players can enter and learn more about on the site soon, but those unfamiliar with these lotteries may want to find out about them and how to play.

Illinois Lotto

The Illinois Lotto has been on the go for more than 30 years and has been leaving multi-millionaires in the wake of its Monday, Wednesday and Saturday draws on a regular basis ever since it began.

Jackpots for this lottery start at $2 million and grow with each rollover, while there are also second, third and fourth-tier prizes up for grabs.

To play, fans select six main numbers from a matrix of 1-52 either using their own favourite digits – such as birthdays or addresses – or using a Quick Pick random number selector.

Fans cal already check lottery results for the Illinois Lotto on theLotter and people will soon be able to enter the draws at the site.

Illinois Little Lotto

The Illinois Little Lotto will be an entirely new addition to theLotter, because when it arrives, enthusiasts will be able to check results and play via the platform.

Prizes for the Little Lotto begin at $100,000 and only get bigger from there and lotto fans may be excited to learn that the odds for this particular draw are better than most.

Players only need to pick five unique numbers from a number matrix of 1-39 using a Quick Pick or their own selection of figures.

Furthermore, fans can enter the Illinois Little Lotto seven days a week, with drawings taking place daily after 21:00 local time.

Good causes

And the proceeds will be going to good causes too, with the state ofIllinoisgetting 25 cents for every ticket sold – bringing important funding to the region.

Last year saw the Illinois Lottery break previous charity records, giving $632 million to the Common School Fund, $54 million to the Capital Projects Fund, $1.2 million to war veterans, $1.2 million to multiple sclerosis charities, $905,200 to AIDS victims and $748,500 to breast cancer research.

Euro lottery draws ‘dominate theSmart’ – January 25th 2012

  by: admin - Category:

European lotto draws are dominating theSmart category here at theLotter – which means those with a penchant for the continent’s lotteries could take home a cash prize if they are savvy about ticket prices and the payouts available.

How theSmart works is that it picks the draws with the best cost-to-benefit ratio, with this being calculated according to tax deductions, the odds and the jackpot total versus the price of the bet.

So people who know their games might be eager to enter Spain’s La Primitiva tomorrow (January 26th), as there is €4.8 million on offer.

Turkey’s Lotto 649 and Super Lotto 654 also feature, with the former offering a 1.2 million Turkish lira payout for jackpot winners at its next draw on Saturday (January 28th) and the latter seeing its top prize jump to 3.2 million Turkish lira in time for Thursday’s game.

The Poland Lotto – which has seen a triple rollover in the past week or so – promises an estimated jackpot of six million polish zloty tomorrow night, but if this top prize goes unclaimed again, fans can enter the next draws on Saturday and Tuesday until it is won.

And the Ireland Lotto is also boasting an attractive jackpot in its game scheduled for tonight (January 25th), as the lottery is offering the person who gets all six main numbers correct a payout of €5.5 million.

But despite this European domination of the Smart list, the US and Australia also featured highly on the table of the best games to play when both ticket price and prize sums are taken into account.

The Australian Saturday Lotto, Wednesday Lotto and Australia Powerball are all featured on the Smart list.

Fans interested in entering the Saturday Lotto this weekend can play for a possible Au$4 million jackpot, while the Wednesday Lotto next week has its top prize set for Au$1 million.

An incredible Au$20 million is up for grabs if players enter the Australia Powerball draw tonight, with this game ranking fourth on the list.

The Indiana Hoosier Lottery – which does not normally feature in theSmart category – is currently ranking third, as its jackpot for this evening’s draw is estimated to be a massive $31.3 million and finally, the Oregon Megabucks also features, with tonight’s game offering a top prize of $19.3 million.

Illinois Lottery cheques worth $159,000 bounce – January 18th 2012

  by: admin - Category:

Many Illinois Lottery fans may have been left confused and annoyed recently, as dozens of cheques written out to winners of the state game bounced – although officials have insisted the problem has now been resolved and steps are being taken to ensure it does not happen again.

Written on December 28th, 85 out of the 311 sent out failed to be banked, resulting in winners wondering when their money would arrive in their account.

The cheques totalled $159,000 and, according to reports, most of them were addressed to those who had struck lucky playing scratch-off games.

Mike Lang, a spokesman for the lottery said the incident occurred when a computer file was not sent on time to the lottery‘s bank. Officials did not, therefore, key in the necessary security code for the cheques to be accepted by various banks.

He added that the incident may have also happened because many Illinois Lottery workers were on annual leave over the Christmas period, suggesting the necessary checks to ensure all systems were in place correctly were overlooked due to the offices being short-staffed.

Any fees incurred by Illinois Lottery winners because of this problem, Mr Lang states, will be paid for by the organisation.

He added that the lotto sends its apologies by sending free scratch-off tickets to those affected.

Anybody who wins more than $600 playing the Illinois Lottery can go to one of a selection of offices that issue cheques in the state.

Those affected were predominantly people who had won $1,000, but the largest individual cheque to bounce was worth $9,500.

When the winners deposited their cheques to their respective banks, they were initially accepted. But when they tried to withdraw the money, it was revealed the cash was not in their account.

Mr Lang revealed the problem was identified shortly after the cheques had been issued but added: “It’s something that we are not happy with and we’re taking steps.”

Such incidents may be a concern to lottery fans – no matter what particular draws they favour – but if they choose to play lotto online, they may reduce the chances of this happening to them.

Chicago lottery winners ‘keep $30 million jackpot payout under wraps’ – November 14th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

Somewhere in Chicago there is a family of a mother, father and two teenage children who are sitting on a lottery fortune – but only a very select few know who these multi-millionaires are.

According to the Calgary Herald, the household scooped $30 million playing their favourite lotto game back in June but have opted to keep their identities anonymous.

Their lawyer, Pat Agnew, claims the family are “different” from the majority of lottery winners in that they have a clear plan for their riches, with the husband and wife proposing to pay off their debts, support their charities and save cash for their children’s education.

Local lottery winner Mike Wittkowski from Inverness – which is also in Illinois – scooped $40 million in lottery money in 1984 and at the time was North America’s wealthiest-ever lotto winner.

Commenting on the family’s decision the lotto fan told the news source: “If they can get away with it, good for them.”

Recently, Go Local Prov revealed a lottery player from Rhode Island claimed $10,000 playing her favourite lotto game but wishes to remain anonymous so she and her husband can enjoy their winnings in peace.

  by: admin - Category:

After winning $250,000 on the USA Mega Millions lottery, a couple from Mattoon in Illinois have decided to build their own dream home.

According to the Illinois Lottery, Joe and Anieta Trame have spent years discussing and planning for a new residence, intending to construct a master bedroom on the first floor instead of on the second, a large basement and a three-vehicle garage.

This will be used to exhibit a model train collection from the 1950s, which Mr Trame enjoys playing with alongside his two grandchildren.

Thanks to their lottery success, they intend to put their current property on Mattoon’s west side on the market in the next six months.

Mr Trame, 56, said of the big win: “It came just at the right time. It’s really a dream come true.”

He and his wife join the ranks of other winners, including Donald Lynn who hit the $12.25 million Lotto jackpot in June 2010.

Illinois Lottery and its Jackpot Winnings

  by: admin - Category:

After playing the lottery for a few years, Ashburn resident, Hector Garcia, still can’t
believe that he is an Illinois Lottery $100,000 winner.

“I’m still in shock. It feels unreal,” said Garcia, a “Maximum Millions”
instant ticket winner. Garcia, a 40-year-old Popeye’s manager for more than 15 years, decided to buy a few instant tickets before heading home from work one day. After waiting a day to check the tickets, he was stunned to find that one of them was a winner. “I checked the first two tickets and they were non-winning tickets,” said Garcia. “Then, when I scratched the third ticket and saw that it was a winner, I thought there must have been some sort of misprint!”

After having the ticket verified at the 7-Eleven, where he bought it, Garcia still couldn’t believe his luck. It wasn’t until he received verification from the Illinois Lottery claims department that he truly believed he was a winner.

You too can be a winner in the Illinois State lottery. At theLotter you can buy your Illinois Lottery tickets online from the comfort of your own home anywhere in the world.
