One-in-five Americans ‘know a lottery winner’ – December 5th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

The USA is one nation that loves its lottery games, with a recent survey revealing one-in-five Americans knows a lotto winner personally.

And it is no surprise the country is in love with playing the lottery, because with big-prize draws such as USA Mega Millions and the USA Florida Lotto, it is hard to resist the hype these enormous jackpots bring about.

According to Poll Position, 62 per cent of all Americans have entered a lottery draw at some point – which also includes playing the lotto online.

This week there are some really big jackpot draws taking place in the US, with the next USA Mega Millions game taking place tomorrow (December 6th) with a top prize of $87 million.

The USA Powerball draw on Wednesday (December 7th) promises an estimated $52 million payout to anybody who gets all five numbers plus the Powerball correct.

Furthermore, the next USA Florida Lotto game – which is also on Wednesday – is going to have a top prize of around $41 million, while the Indiana Hoosier Lottery draw looks to have a jackpot of $24 million when the balls are drawn that evening too.

Fans of these great games can have a go at winning a juicy payout and check estimated jackpots and lottery results at theLotter.

USA Florida Lottery ‘celebrates 25 years’ – November 15th 2011

  by: admin - Category:

The USA Florida Lottery has had a lot to celebrate this year, with the game turning 25 on November 4th of this month, marking a quarter-of-a-century of exciting rollovers, supporting good causes and generating great prizes which have thrilled fans from all over the world.

On November 4th 1986, 64 per cent of voters made their mark on the state’s constitution, enabling it to run a state-managed lottery, with the first tickets for the game being sold two years later for its first draw on May 7th 1988.

So far there have been a total of 321,422,975 total winners, with 965 of these being made millionaires by the lotto.

Furthermore, the game has earned a whopping $7 billion for state education.

The good work of the USA Florida Lottery may be well known to those lucky enough to live in the Sunshine State, but not to lotto enthusiasts from further afield.

Its sole beneficiary is the Education Enhancement Trust Fund, which supports programmes at state college and university levels.

Chief executive officer of Florida TaxWatch Dominic Calabro told Florida Trend: “I think it’s fair to say without the lottery contribution to education, our public education would be far more troubled. With all its perceptions and challenges, it’s been a net contributor to Florida.”

Hollywood winner claims Florida Mega Money prize – April 21st 2011

  by: admin - Category:

Yet another millionaire has been made thanks to the Florida Lottery, after a 30-year-old from Hollywood hit the big time by buying a Mega Money Quick Pick ticket.

Moniqueca Neufeld walked off with a cool $1 million and opted for the lump-sum payment – after tax, she banked $705,267.50.

However, she wasn’t the only one to profit from this turn of fortune. The retailer – Foodtown in Davie, Florida – has received a $1,000 bonus incentive, just for selling the winning ticket.

What’s more, the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund also benefited from the draw – total ticket sales for that day’s jackpot generated over $1 million for the organisation.

Just three days earlier, Patricia Wright of Bradenton scored big on the Floriday Mega Money lottery as well, lining her pockets with $600,000.

She too chose the one-time lump-sum payment option and in the end went home with lottery winnings of $426,816.20. Congratulations goes to all!

If you want to be the next big millionaire, take your chances on the lottery at TheLotter.

Couple Cashes in their $1,000,000 Winning Mega Millions Lottery Ticket the Day Before the Deadline

Another Almost-Losing-Winner Story

Literally, one day before their 180-day claim period was set to expire, a North Carolina couple came forward to claim their Mega Millions jackpot. Talk about last minute – this couple had less than 24-hours before their ticket would have changed from a ticket valued at $1 Million, to just another piece of paper. That is, another piece of paper worth absolutely nothing.

Erin and Raleigh Hill were the lucky “almost-losing-winners” who, despite authorities numerous attempts to locate them, held onto their ticket for almost 6 months! Mr. Hill KNEW that they had a winning ticket, yet waited weeks to tell his wife. He conveniently told her when she came home from a bad day at work. I think it’s safe to say her bad day became pleasantly “not-so-bad”. For months, Mrs. Hill tried to get her husband to cash the ticket in instead of hiding it everywhere from their Bible to a shoebox. He even thought he had lost it at one point during those months.

His reasoning behind not claiming his million dollars immediately? Raleigh said to officials “It wasn’t about the money. It was the attention…I was overwhelmed. Nervous”. Really? Well, Mr. Raleigh, next time you’re too “nervous” to claim $1,000,000 – send that ticket my way. When Gail Howard, lottery expert and author of the popular book ‘Lottery Master Guide’, was asked why she thinks it’s so common for lottery tickets to go unclaimed, she simply answered “I think it’s more that  they were too busy or lazy to check their ticket….Then days went by and it went out of their mind”.

At least 4 tickets go unclaimed each year in North Carolina. Two years ago, another N.C. man nearly lost out on $200,000 because his lottery ticket was left unchecked and sitting in his dresser drawer for months – 5 months and 29 days that is. With two days left, he found it and realized…how lazy he was <wink>. Yet another reason why playing lotteries online is the only way to play. With your jackpots deposited right into your account, you can’t go wrong. Besides, checking your own ticket right after the drawing is SO ten years ago.

Good Luck,

Edward Webber

Florida State Lottery Online

  by: admin - Category:

over the years that we’ve been offering our online lottery ticket buying service, people have probably been most interested in the Florida State Lottery Online so we thought (well my boss did) that this would be an ideal forum to post some quick information about what the Florida Lottery is all about:

The first game offered by the Flordia Lottery was called Millionaire, a one dollar scratch card game with a jackpot prize of $1 Million. Then in April 1988 the first number-drawing games were held, Cash 3 and Lotto, with Lotto a 6 number game with a multi-million USD jackpot.

Lotto is a twice weekly lottery game, with drawings taking place on a Wendnesday and Saturday, during a live broadcast at 11pm EST, 6 balls are drawn from a number range 1 to 53. The minimum estimated jackpot is $3 million and rollsover until someone wins!
