Lotto Stories » Young couple land coveted €54.2 million EuroMillions jackpot – February 10th 2012
by: admin - Category:
The winners of the coveted €54.2 million EuroMillions prize have been revealed by UK lottery officials only as a young couple, who may be using some of their fantastic winnings to make St Valentine’s Day next week very special indeed.
By coincidence, the fortunate pair – who realised their good luck following Tuesday night’s (February 7th) draw of the European lottery – live not too very far from previous EuroMillions winners Gareth and Catherine Bull.
The young couple are said to be from Nottingham, while the Bulls live in their dream home in Mansfield, which is only 15 miles away from the Midlands city.
Camelot has claimed the identities of the pair will be revealed in an upcoming press conference, where they will discuss what they do for a living, some of their family background and – of course – what they plan to do with their winnings.
Their €54.2 million payout is the seventh-largest jackpot ever to be won in the UK, with Christine and Colin Weir of Largs in Scotland smashing all previous record in July 2011 when they took home a €185 million fortune.
The next biggest prize was taken home by Wisbech couple Dave and Angela Dawes, who have been publically generous with their €101 million.
Gareth and Catherine Bull now come in eighth on the list after they won €48.9 million on January 20th playing the European lottery.
So, until this latest couple of EuroMillions millionaires come forward to discuss their plans with the media, the world can but speculate as to how they will use their gigantic payout – but with St Valentine’s Day next week, it is likely they will be using some of their money to celebrate the international love and romance holiday in style and luxury.
For lottery fans who want to learn a little more about the EuroMillions lotto, it was created in 2004 by the three major lottery organisations of France, Spain and Britain.
Eventually, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland joined the draw, while millions of international lottery enthusiasts play the game online at sites including theLotter.
