The top prize scooped by one lucky fan of the lotto was in 2010, when four Brazil Mega Sena fans won a quarter of the R$194.3 jackpot each.

This means they took home a R$48.5 million share.

As such, if one single Brazil Mega da Virada player lands December 31st’s top prize, they will be the wealthiest sole lottery winner in the nation’s history.
