Swiss lotto fan wins €67 million playing EuroMillions – November 14th 2011

After several weeks of repeated rollovers, the EuroMillions jackpot was scooped by one lucky lotto fan from Switzerland.

The top prize had climbed to a whopping €67.9 million for Friday’s (November 11th) game.

According to local news site Blick, the anonymous lottery player is now one of the wealthiest lottery winners from Switzerland, with only one Portuguese national taking home a bigger prize in 2005, when he scooped €79 million in the same game.

Very little is known about the lucky lotto fan apart from the fact he or she bought their lottery ticket on Friday afternoon before the draw in a shopping centre in Zurich.

So now the EuroMillions jackpot sum has been reset to €15 million – a prize that is certainly not to be sniffed at.
