Louisiana Lottery ‘celebrates 20 years of making millionaires’ – November 16th 2011

The Louisiana Lottery is celebrating 20 excitement-packed years of making hundreds of millionaires – and to mark the milestone anniversary, it is offering a raft of promotions and games to its fans.

It seems the state lotto continues to be popular, with 2011 proving to be its second-best year, selling $385 million worth of tickets.

Rose Hudson, lottery president, claims the trust players have in the game is why it is so successful and stated that the Louisiana Lottery was the first in the USA to be given verification of quality assurance procedures meeting industry best practices.

“It’s a wonderful time to look back on how much the Louisiana Lottery has contributed to our state monetarily and culturally – as well as thank those business partners, employees and Louisianans who helped make it happen,” she noted.

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Louisiana Lottery launched a Facebook campaign to give players the chance to win a Mardi Grad parade ride by sharing their own customs for the festival on the social media site, while in February it brought back its popular Millionaire Bonus Raffle to be in with a chance of winning $1 million.

Fans were given the chance to design the official anniversary T-shirt in spring and in September a series of special scratch-off games were launched.
