Fast food worker ‘wins $250,000 with discarded USA Mega Millions ticket’ – November 23rd 2011

A fast food worker from Dawsonville, Georgia, has won $250,000 thanks to a USA Mega Millions ticket that had been tossed in the rubbish bin.

According to Opposing Views, Andrew Hunter, who works at a local branch of Taco Bell, rescued the discarded slip and upon unfurling it realized he had scooped $3, because one of the lines matched one number plus the Mega Ball.

With this small windfall, the 24-year-old then purchased more lottery tickets – one of which resulted in a $250,000 payout.

He remarked: “I would have never bought that ticket if I hadn’t pulled the other ticket out of the trash.

“I don’t think it’s really hit me yet.”

Lottery fans who do not know where to buy MegaMillion lottery tickets can enter the draw at theLotter to be in with a chance of winning one of the cash prizes on offer.

Mr Hunter has not revealed whether he intends to keep his job at Taco Bell, or what purchases he plans to make with his newfound wealth.

He has said, however, that he will be investing some of his money – which could be a wise move for the young lotto winner.

USA Mega Millions fans could grab up to $55 million in prize money if they enter Friday’s (November 25th) lotto draw.
