Newspaper ad set up to alert mystery UK National Lottery fan of win – October 28th 2011

A UK National Lottery winner who has not yet come forward to collect their prize may be prompted to make themselves known as a result of a newspaper advertisement commissioned by lottery officials.

According to the Daily Mail, the ad has been published in the same manner as a job vacancy, inviting the “successful candidate” to collect their £612,749 in prize money if they are “committed to enjoying the life-changing win”.

True to any job advertisement, there is a deadline for applicants, which is dated for 17:30 GMT on Monday February 6th 2012.

Very little is known about the mystery lottery player, apart from the fact he or she entered the draw on August 10th 2011 in Newport in South Wales – and that they own a ticket that matches the main numbers pulled in the game (2, 4, 27, 43 and 44).

And if £612,749 sounds like a tidy sum to take home, lotto fans may wish to enter this Saturday’s (October 29th) UK National Lottery draw, which is estimated to have a jackpot worth £4.1 million.
