Picking lottery numbers can sometimes be an act of habit for the seasoned lotto fan, but one expert has said some methods are better than others if players do not want to risk sharing a jackpot.

Distinguished statistician and Winton professor of the public understanding of risk at Cambridge University David Spiegelhalter has claimed a random number generator is most likely the best way to go when it comes to limiting the chances of having to see a prize divided between lottery enthusiasts.
