Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot to reach €114 million – September 2nd 2011

Lotto fans out there may be positively itching with anticipation ahead of tonight’s (September 2nd) EuroMillions draw, because the top prize has risen to a whopping €114 million.

This jackpot is one of the biggest in the game’s history, with the world famous, record-smashing €185 million top payout in July going to Christine and Colin Weir of Largs in Scotland.

The second-highest EuroMillions jackpot also went to a British couple in October 2010, when the pair – who opted to remain anonymous – scooped €128 million.

According to UK lottery organisation Camelot, if the prize goes to just a single player tonight then they will become the third-biggest winners in the history of the game.

And with all this hype about the EuroMillions, you would think lotto fans would be memorising their numbers and keeping their tickets safe, but apparently a €680,000 prize won in the UK is still unclaimed.

The Barnet & Potters Bar Times reported that the life-changing sum was won on August 5th after the winner picked the five main numbers correctly.
