‘Patience pays’ when playing the lottery – September 8th 2011

Individuals who regularly play the lottery may find that patience eventually pays off – especially if the example of one lucky winner is anything to go by.

Sandra Ham from Elon, North Carolina in the US scooped a hefty jackpot on the numbers game after trying her luck at the pursuit for a number of years.

Although the games player had picked up a $1,000 win and several $100 prizes in her previous lottery attempts, her persistence truly paid off when she landed a massive $1 million windfall.

Ms Ham said she always believed she would succeed with the lotto, noting: “I shook my head and said ‘It’s about time’. I knew for years that I was going to win $1 million in the lottery.”

The retired electronics specialist claimed she was very calm when realising her dreams had come true, explaining she always had it in her mind that she was destined to bag a huge prize on the numbers game.

US players have a number of lottery options open to them, including Hot Lotto, Mega Millions and Powerball.
