Lucky lotto fan scoops €162.2 EuroMillions jackpot – September 14th 2011

A very lucky lottery fan can thank their lucky stars today – as they obviously selected them correctly after scooping the top prize in last night’s (September 13th) EuroMillions draw.

The fortunate lotto player, who has not yet been identified, has landed his or herself a life-altering €162.2 million, after they picked all five balls (9, 28, 30, 32, 49) and the two lucky star bonus balls (9, 10) correctly.

Thanks to this gargantuan payout, if the sole winner is a Brit, they have now been catapulted up to 512th place on the UK’s rich list, making them wealthier than many household name stars of stage, screen and the music scene.

Even though €162.2 million is hardly a sum to be sniffed at, the enormous prize did not beat the EuroMillions record win bagged by Christine and Colin Weir of Largs in Scotland in July this year, who took home €185 million after striking lucky with their numbers.
