The 25-year-old has forked out for a fancy car in the form of a BMW M3 and is putting the finishing touches on planning a relaxing golfing holiday to Ireland.

In addition, Mr McCarthy – who decided to take a single cash payout as opposed to 26 annual payments – has donated $50,000 to two local charities.

A similar spending spree is likely to be on the cards for fellow Mega Millions winner James Pond, who recently told KREM 2 News he plans to buy his son a jet ski with his new-found wealth.
