Retired couple to use USA Powerball prize ‘to help charities’ – August 2nd 2011

  by: admin - Category:

A retired couple from Chapin in the US state of South Carolina have walked away with a $1 million prize after playing USA Powerball.

The pair – who opted to remain anonymous – claimed, however, that their lottery winnings have not been earmarked for expensive holidays and flash cars because they would prefer to put the cash to good causes.

“We feel we won so we can give back,” the wife of the winning couple told WISTV.com, adding: “Local charities in Chapin will be blessed. We want to help people in the community that need it.”

The retirees only discovered they were due a payout when a reporter on the midday news revealed a local lottery player had a winning ticket but had not yet claimed their prize.

And lotto fans can get in the game tomorrow (August 3rd) to be in with a chance of winning the £160 million USA Powerball jackpot.

Players can enter their lucky numbers at theLotter – which will notify any lucky lottery enthusiasts of the good news if they win.
