EuroMillions winners ‘living life of luxury in hotel’ – August 19th 2011

Record-smashing EuroMillions winners Christine and Colin Weir of Largs in Scotland have been making sure their €185 million in lotto winnings is keeping them well looked after, as the couple and their two children are living the life of Riley in a luxury hotel.

The retired nurse and cameraman have been staying at the five-star Turnberry Hotel in nearby Girvan with their grown-up children Jamie and Carly and have racked up a bill of £30,000 since checking in.

Their sighting at the spa is the first time they have been seen in their home county since they went public about their enormous windfall.

Apart from a holiday and their current residence, the couple have not made any massive purchases with their lottery money, but have made it known when they move house they want to stay near Largs.

Earlier this month it was rumoured by the Daily Star that the Weirs were set to buy a €61 million mansion not too far from their beloved marina town, but so far this has neither been denied nor confirmed.
