Arkansas man wins $1 million playing USA Powerball – August 8th 2011

There’s a new millionaire in the US state of Arkansas this week, as local man Randy Wagner of the town of Grubbs scooped a $1 million cash prize playing USA Powerball.

According to Arkansas Matters, the fortunate lotto fan is the tenth player from that state to win $1 million or more since September 28th 2009 – which could mean the southern destination is extra lucky for lottery players.

Mr Wagner told lottery officials that he went into work the day after the draw totally unaware that he was holding the key to a fortune and only found out when he called home to ask his daughter to read the numbers to him for him to check.

The winner drove to Little Rock with his dad Buck Wagner to collect his cash prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery on Thursday (August 4th).

And fans of USA Powerball can get in the game in time for Wednesday’s (August 10th’s) draw at theLotter, which is calculated to have a jackpot worth $220 million!
