The Lakeland Echo reports that the lucky lottery fan – known only as Katie for confidentiality reasons – picked five winning numbers, entitling her to the generous second prize.

A US citizen, Katie moved to the Lancashire university town to be near her partner, who is from Liverpool.

She was quoted by the news source as saying: “My partner and I were overwhelmed when we saw that I’d won. I couldn’t believe it.”
