$1 million USA Powerball winner plans Disney World trip – June 6th 2011

A USA Powerball winner who lined his pockets with $1 million has revealed how he intends to spend his winnings – with a trip to Disney World for his two daughters.

Rich Wright of Chapel Hill in North Carolina matched five out of the six numbers on one of his tickets for the June 2^nd draw, using special birthdays for lotto digits.

He told NC Education Lottery officials he couldn’t believe his luck, stating: “I said, ‘Oh my God’. And my family said, ‘What?’ And I said, ‘We just hit the lottery‘.”

As well as the trip to Disney World, Mr Wright plans to buy a new home and pay off a few outstanding bills.

The USA Powerball game saw four other players take home $10,000 and one claim the $200 million jackpot.

Mr Wright’s win comes after that of James Dixon, who took $200,000 to the bank – although he almost lost out on the cash after accidentally throwing his lottery ticket away. He had to search through the trash in order to retrieve the stub.
