Powerball player claims $74 million – May 3rd 2011

  by: admin - Category:

A life-changing amount of lottery money has been claimed by a geoscientist from Merrillville, north-western Indiana.

William Swanson came forward to collect his winnings of $74 million from the April 23rd draw and was presented with a cheque by Hoosier Lottery on April 29th.

He and his mother bought two tickets for the Powerball game and he matched six numbers when the balls dropped – 3, 11, 47, 48 and 58 and the Powerball of 19.

Mr Swanson now plans to spend his riches on his mom and will be moving her nearer to Houston, where he currently lives. He will also be buying her a red Cadillac and a house.

As for himself, he says he intends to take it easy and go on some holidays with his 13-year-old son.

Mr Swanson joins Darin Fox and Todd Reardon of southern Indiana in the lottery winners’ hall of fame – last month, the two co-workers took home a $221.7 million Powerball jackpot.
