After waiting a day to check the tickets, he was stunned to find that one of them was a winner. “I checked the first two tickets and they were non-winning tickets,” said Garcia. “Then, when I scratched the third ticket and saw that it was a winner, I thought there must have been some sort of misprint!”

After having the ticket verified at the 7-Eleven, where he bought it, Garcia still couldn’t believe his luck. It wasn’t until he received verification from the Illinois Lottery claims department that he truly believed he was a winner.
